Rurouni Kenshin (Japanese: るろうに剣心 Hepburn: Rurōni Kenshin) is a 2012 Japanese film adaptation of the manga of the same name originally written by Nobuhiro Watsuki. Directed by Keishi Ōtomo, the film stars Takeru Satoh and Emi Takei. The film focuses on fictional events that take place during the early Meiji period in Japan, telling the story of a wanderer named Himura Kenshin, formerly known as the assassin Hitokiri Battosai. After participating in the Bakumatsu war, Kenshin wanders the countryside of Japan offering protection and aid to those in need as atonement for the murders he once committed as an assassin.
Rumors circulated of a live action adaptation of the manga before it was announced. The Sankei Sports newspaper adds that the staff aims to release the film internationally and eventually make a series. This will be the first live-action adaptation of the manga. During the production, Nobuhiro offered his ideas for the movie, which were used in the filming. The film was distributed internationally by Warner Bros.
Rurouni Kenshin was theatrically released on August 25, 2012 in Japan, grossing over $36 million in that country and over $60 million worldwide as of November 2012. It was released in DVD on December 26, 2012. The film has been licensed for distribution in over 60 countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia. The movie premiered in North America as an opening selection for the 2012 LA EigaFest in December 14, 2012.
On June 14th, 2016, Funimation Film announced that they acquired the rights to the Rurouni Kenshin live-action trilogy. The three films, distributed by GAGA Corporation, include Rurouni Kenshin: Origins (renamed for the re-release),Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno, andRurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends. The movies will be released in Japanese language with English subtitles and will be released sequentially during fall 2016. The license covers North American theatrical, home video, video on demand, and broadcast distribution.
Rurouni Kenshin: Origins will be screened August 8-10, Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno will be screened September 12-14, and Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends will be shown October 3-5.

Attack on Titan (進撃の巨人 Shingeki no Kyojin) is a 2015 Japanese tokusatsu film based on the manga of the same name by Hajime Isayama. The film is directed by Shinji Higuchi, written by Yūsuke Watanabe and Tomohiro Machiyama and stars Haruma Miura, Hiroki Hasegawa, Kiko Mizuhara, Kanata Hongō, Takahiro Miura, Nanami Sakuraba, Satoru Matsuo, Shu Watanabe, Ayame Misaki, Rina Takeda, Satomi Ishihara, Pierre Taki and Jun Kunimura. In Attack on Titan Eren Yeager, and his childhood friend Armin Arlert, join the Survey Corps, a military corporation to fight gigantic humanoids called the Titans after their hometown is attacked by a Colossal Titan. The film is split into two parts, with the first part released in Japan on August 1, 2015 and the second part (subtitled End of the World) released on September 19, 2015.
5-ji Kara 9-ji Made: Watashi ni Koi Shita Obōsan (5→9〜私に恋したお坊さん〜, English title “From Five to Nine”) is a 2015 Fuji TV Japanese television drama series, starring Satomi Ishihara and Tomohisa Yamashita in the lead roles. The drama is based on the manga series by Miki Aihara. It aired from 12 October 2015 to 14 December 2015 on Mondays at 21:00 with a total of 10 episodes. The first episode received a viewership rating of 12.6% in the Kantō region.
Plot
Tsubame Haruna (Suzu Hirose) is a female high school student. She spends her days peaceful, while concerned about other’s facial expressions. She is forced to become the student president. Tsubame Haruna then meets Kei Shizukui (Ryunosuke Kamiki). He has a talented speech writer. With his help, Tsubame Haruna starts a revolution at her corrupt school.
